Launch of Deafblind Literacy Project
Following on from the success of our pilot programme last year, we are delighted to announce the launch of our Deafblind Literacy Project. The funded grant is one of 55 chosen by the Toy Show Appeal through the Community Foundation for Ireland and for the next year we will be focusing on creating accessible literacy materials for children who are deafblind and their peers. Most children have access to many books at home and at school. A child who is deafblind may have limited books to choose from. Through this project we hope to increase learning, communication and personal development amongst children who are deafblind. Please get in touch with snallen@annesullivancentre.ie if you or someone you know would benefit from this project.
