On 20th September we were delighted to work alongside UCD and some of our deafblind clients in another Hackathon. This follows on from the first Hackathon in June. It was great to have PhD students from different backgrounds brainstorming solutions to issues the deafblind community in Ireland may face. The 20th of September also happens to be Usher syndrome awareness day which falls on the third Saturday of September every year. This is because it is the beginning of when the days contain more hours of darkness than light and represents a metaphor for the night blindness that affects those with Usher syndrome.
