The Anne Sullivan Centre has introduced an initiative called “The Augmentative Communication Challenge” whereby employees of the ASC visit local businesses to teach people the Irish Sign Language alphabet and how to use augmentative (tactile) communication. It is a fun, educational and team-building initiative that we hope many local businesses will be interested in participating in. Our aim is to increase the general public’s awareness of the abilities of people with dual-sensory impairment and the need to remove barriers to people with disabilities finding employment. If you own or manage a business and would like the ASC to visit your workplace and facilitate this initiative, please contact 087 6457586 or 01 2898339
