After the success in presenting our online course for the past year, we have decided to continue offering the course in order to reach more professionals and families all over the country.
Our next course will begin on Monday, Sept 13, 2021 from 12-1pm (GMT) via Microsoft Teams and run weekly until Oct 18.
The course is free, open to anyone, and is appropriate for professionals, teachers, and families of children or adults who are deafblind/dual sensory loss. This includes individuals who have some residual vision and hearing, as the term “deafblind” includes anyone with combined loss. We will also focus on those living with additional needs such as physical, medical, cognitive or developmental delays.
The description of each module is attached and schedule is also here:
Sept 13 12-1pm Module 1: Overview of deafblindness
Sept 20 12-1pm Module 2: Hearing, Vision and Guiding
Sept 27 12-1pm Module 3: Deafblind Awareness and Accessibility
Oct 4 12-1pm Module 4: Communication (Part 1)

All times are in Irish time (GMT)
Presentation slides will be sent to participants after each module
and let us know if you have any other questions. The course is full of information, tips, resources, videos, and examples from people who are living in Ireland. We strive to engage with all our participants and make the course suit your needs as a service provider or family member of an individual who is deafblind. If you have a child joining your classroom who has dual sensory loss, we would strongly encourage you to attend.
A link will be sent to you at the email address you provide in registrations prior to the course start date.
If you have a group from your organisation or school who would is interested in this course (or a shorter version), please get in touch and we can arrange this at a time/day that suits your staff.
